Liberto was founded by husband and wife team Mairead Maher (a lifelong coeliac) and Marek Mlynarczyk, (a passionate cook) - both “serious” foodies. It is an exciting range of organic & gluten-free healthy lifestyle foods that are also suitable for vegans. Based in the Hartnett Enterprise Centre in Limerick, they launched the Liberto organic bean pasta range and a vegan pate range less than two years ago, with the support of the Limerick Local Enterprise Office. This was followed last November, with the launch of an incredible range of organic & vegan protein shakes boosted with superfoods, pro-biotics and pre-biotics.

Their vision and dedication were recognised with an extraordinary 4 wins at the Free From Food Awards, Ireland. The FreeFrom Food Awards are Ireland’s only awards dedicated to the free-from sector and are open to entrants from across the 32 counties. These awards not only encourage the ongoing growth and innovation in the sector but also demonstrate the quality in this area, which is a huge bonus for those consumers who must shop in the free-from aisles.

Over 600 entries were judged over 14 days and Liberto was delighted to receive 2 Joint Gold awards in the pasta category, for the Liberto Organic Edamame Fettuccine and the Liberto Organic Black Soyabean Spaghetti. But that wasn’t all – another two awards were scooped in the Superfoods category including the category Gold award for the nutrition boosting “Liberto Vanilla Flavoured Organic & Vegan Protein Shake” and bronze for the Liberto Coconut & Lemon Flavoured Organic and Vegan Protein Shake.
