LIT Student Entrepreneur Awards:

Is open to all fulltime registered students in LIT. The competition aims to promote innovation and enterprise amongst entrepreneurial students, through workshops and drop-in-clinics, helping students to develop a product/service idea and an outline business plan, clearly explaining:

What Do You Need To Do
Produce a 180 second video about your product/service, explaining the 5 points above, and submit online.
Students will be called to present their video to a small panel of judges and answer questions about their business idea.
There is a first prize of a €250 One4All voucher together with other prizes.

Why Enter the LIT Student Entrepreneur Awards 2019

If you have a business idea, this is an opportunity to start the journey to turn your concept into reality.
It gets you to think about your product/service - what is, what if, what wows and what works
It prepares you to seamlessly enter the Enterprise Ireland Student Entrepreneur Awards 2019, where the first prize is €10,000 cash with up to €30,000 of specialist advice and assistance.

Timetable for LIT Student Enterprise Awards 2019

Student Sign-up

W/C Mon 14th Jan:

Students who are interested in the LIT and EI competitions, to sign-up for workshops and drop-in-clinics. Sign-up is open until midnight Sunday 27th January.

Workshop(s)

W/C  Mon 28th Jan:

At least one 1hr workshop to include Design Thinking, the Business Model Canvas and Elevator Pitch (180sec max).

Drop-in Clinics

Feb - Dates TBC:

Students can schedule meetings with Derek and Mary to discuss their business idea - in person or by Skype.

LIT Competition Sign-up

Fri 15th Feb:

Students who want to enter LIT Student Enterprise Awards, to register by 12noon Friday 15th February.

Submit Competition Videos

Thu 21st Feb:

Students who have entered the LIT Student Enterprise Awards, to submit their 180sec video by 12noon Thursday 21st February. Students notified of the date and time of the presentations the following week.

Presentations

W/C Mon 25th Feb:

Students to present their videos in person to a small panel of judges.

EI Submission

Fri 08th March:

Students to take on-board panel feedback - possibly amend pitch, reshoot 180sec video - upload final version of video on EI website.

Announce LIT Winners:

Mon 11th Mar:

Announce winners of LIT Student Enterprise Awards - 1st Prize €250 One4All Voucher with Runner Up prizes for 2nd and 3rd places.
